POLICE are appealing for information after a bench with a brass plaque was stolen from outside Corsham Bowls Club in Station Road
The theft occurred overnight between May 6-7.
PCSO Shaun Redmond said: "The bench is a three-seater, heavy, wooden bench which was dedicated to a businessman who once lived in the town.
"The bench is usually bolted down but on this occasion, unfortunately, it hadn't been secured.
"We would like to appeal to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area overnight between May 6-7 to get in touch.
"The bench is heavy and would have required several people, or a vehicle, to move."
Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
