A new state of the art fitness suite which uses latest technology to help people tailor their keep fit regime to personal goals opened at Springfield Community Campus in Corsham last week.

The machines include the use of software called PulseMove which helps people meet their fitness target by linking their workouts to their smartphones giving them access to a virtual trainer.

It allows members to insert their card into the PulseMove kiosk, select their goals and the PulseMove personal trainer creates them a personalised workout, storing it onto their membership card. They then simply insert the card into each piece of gym equipment and the level, speed, duration and so on will be set automatically.

The suite is the latest stage in the development at the Wiltshire Council campus and the refurbished swimming pool complete with new male and female changing rooms is due to open for the summer holidays.

John Thomson, cabinet member with responsibility for campuses said: “This is going to be a popular facility in the campus because people can harness this latest technology to achieve their fitness goals and stay healthy. I’d encourage people of all ages and abilities to have a go.”

The Springfield Campus is the first in Wiltshire Council’s countywide programme to provide improved facilities and services and it was first opened in August 2014 with a library, café, climbing wall and rooms for community space.
