Loyal and long-serving Co-op customer Margaret Woodland unveiled the newly refurbished store in Box last Thursday.
The 78-year-old from Box Hill cut the ribbon showing the store’s £300,000 makeover.
The store now has an enhanced bakery range and a focus on fresh, healthy foods and essentials. The refurbishment included new fittings, floorings and fridges.
Mrs Woodland, who has lived in the village for 65 years, said: “It was an absolute honour. I never shop anywhere else.
“I always do my weekly shop there on a Saturday. I love it, the staff and the quality of the food. I know the staff by first name and they are like a little family to me.”
