CHILDREN'S favourite Horrible Histories will be bringing all things horrible and all things barmy to Neeld at Chippenham this summer.

The show, which is coming off the back of a hugely successful West End season, will be touring the country for the first time this year, popping into the Neeld Community and Arts Centre on June 3.

Written by Terry Deary and Neal Foster, the show, which is performed by Birmingham Stage Company, will examine the Romans, the Vikings, Elizabethan England, crazy King Charles, the Victorians and the First World War in just 70 minutes.

"I have my ticket booked already," leader of Chippenham Town Council Sandie Webb said. "What better place for Horrible Histories than the town of Chippenham where Arthur had his Palace in those days so beloved of Horrible Histories author Terry Deary. Not so much revolting as riveting.”

The show will entertain all ages with its hysterical journey through British history - and of course, include all the nasty bits from our gruesome past.

Tickets, which cost £17 for adults and £13.50, are available from www.neeld.co.uk, by phone on 01249 446699, or from Chippenham Town Hall reception.
