JEWELLERY and a computer worth more than £30,000 have been stolen from a house in Chippenham in broad daylight.

The incident took place at 12.15pm on Friday (April 7), when a house in Allington was broken into and a number of items were stolen.

This includes a Tiffany starfish bracelet, a silver and turquoise flower bracelet, an Indian antique turquoise and coral cuff and three stone sapphire and diamond ring, as well as a MacBook Pro.

PCSO Elizabeth Duncan said: “This burglary has caused distress and upset to the victims – many of the items of jewellery that have been stolen were sentimental and cannot be replaced as they are family heirlooms.”

The burglar is described as white, aged in his 30s, 5ft 7inches tall with dark hair.

He was wearing a flat cap, blue jeans and a dark blue top, and left the scene in a maroon coloured, old style Ford Focus in the direction of Kington St Michael.

PCSO Duncan added: “I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this man leaving the area in the vehicle described, or anyone who may have information as to the whereabouts of the items of jewellery.

“We are carrying out a detailed investigation into this incident and would like to hear from anyone with information which could help.”

Anyone with information should call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
