PUPILS at Hardenhuish School in Chippenham brought one of literature’s greatest love stories to life during a visit by the Young Shakespeare Company.

The professional touring theatre company performed for all Year 9 pupils at the school with their interactive workshop presentation of Romeo and Juliet.

The actors took suggestions from pupils and put their ideas into practice, offering new insights into the performance.

Lauren Cowley, KS3 English co-ordinator, said: “Shakespeare’s plays were meant to be watched, so performances like this are really valuable in helping students understand the characters and ideas.

“The Young Shakespeare Company delivered a wonderfully engaging session, with Year 9 participating with enthusiasm.”
