Two fire crews were mobilised to reports of a coach fire on the M4 near Chippenham earlier today.
The vehicle, which had stopped on the hardshoulder eastbound near junction 17, had suffered a short circuit of its battery which then began to smoke.
Fire crews from Chippenham attended just before 2pm but were stood-down shortly after and a third crew from Malmesbury were turned away before arriving at the scene.
Passengers on the coach had been evacuated as a precuation.
