HARDENHUISH School has become one of only 31 schools across the country to be awarded the Microsoft Showcase School status for their work in using computer technology.
The Chippenham school were awarded the status following two years of promoting technology to enhance teaching and learning by using Office 365, OneNote Class Notebook and SharePoint during lessons.
The school has invested in tablet computers for all teaching staff, as well as allowing tablets to be accessed by pupils in class and allowing sixth form students to bring in their own devices.
The Hardenhuish Educational Trust has also been actively raising money to buy more tablets to enable greater access to technology at home and at school for all pupils.
Reinier Spruijt, ICT innovations manager at Hardenhuish School, said: “Over the next few months, we have a group of lead practitioners who have been tasked with enthusing the school’s wider staff to deliver lessons that will enable pupils to access learning when and where they need it.”
