STAFF who work in the Emery Gate Shopping Centre in Chippenham are delighted, after they smashed their fundraising target to collect over £8,000 for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, their chosen charity for the year.

Representatives of the centre management and shopkeepers recently handed over a cheque for £8,904. Nicola Milne, Emery Gate Shopping Centre manager and one of the Directors of the Chippenham BID, said:

“On behalf of Emery Gate Shopping Centre, I would like to thank everyone that has kindly donated and supported us with our fundraising in support of Wiltshire Air Ambulance. Raising awareness for Wiltshire Air Ambulance is so important and we’re incredibly pleased to have chosen them this year.”

Kenresa Stratford, fundraising co-ordinator at Wiltshire Air Ambulance, said: “We are extremely pleased to be working with Emery Gate Shopping Centre, the effort that has gone into their fundraising has been really extraordinary.

"As a charity, we need to raise £3.25 million a year to keep flying and saving lives, relying almost entirely on the support of the community and businesses of Wiltshire. We’re grateful to Emery Gate for being so enthusiastic in their approach in supporting us."
