Thousands of runners took the streets of Chippenham which were lined with supporter for this year's Chippenham Half Marathon.

Paul Martelletti, who ran on behalf of team Run Fast, managed to complete the race on Sunday in 1:08:41 beating more than 1,500 to the finish line, while Rebecca Moore crossed the line in first place for the women and fourth overall.

Ms Moore, who runs for Chichester Runners & AC, broke her own record from 2014 by a staggering 1 minute and 56 seconds to cross the line in 1:15:25.

One of the organisers Ian Wiggins said: "It went really well and we are very pleased with the turn out this year and there was great support from the crowd all day.

"Paul Martelletti won the race again this year and he was absolutely flying. Chippenham has really taken hold of the half marathon and we are getting regular feedback from the runners saying it was brilliant."

The race, which was voted eighth in the Runners World 50 best UK races of 2015 and the WAA Race of the Year award in 2014, is hoping to raise more than £10,000 for their two main chairties, the Forever Friend's Appeal and the Brighter Futures Radiotherapy Appeal, with a smaller proportion of the proceeds awarded to local charities.
