HUNDREDS of people young and old pedalled their around the Castle Combe Circuit at the weekend as part of a family cycle day.
The annual event, which was held for the seventh time on Sunday, allows both seasoned veterans on the bike and those with less experience the opportunity to get in the saddle and have fun as well as raise money for charity, which this year was Help for Heroes.
Children and their families had the chance to ride around the 1.85mile track while more capable riders were able to ride between a 60mile or 100mile course, both of which finished back at the Wiltshire circuit after taking in the Severn Bridge.
Andy Cook, organiser of the event alongside his wife Jacqui, said: “We want to develop the whole festival idea and create the ethos that it’s not all about the sportif riders, we want families coming down and stay during the day.
“The popularity of the sport has definitely increased.
“People had the chance to try different bikes and there was a bit of trade show type thing with a few companies showing their wares.”
