HUNDREDS of children from around Chippenham came together to take part in the annual Small Schools’ Tournament at Seagry School.

Held last Saturday (May 14), primary schools including Seagry, Somerfords Walter Powell, Christian Malford, Sherston, Sutton Benger and Langley Fitzurse were represented in the netball and football events.

Jill Rowe, executive principal of Seagry, Somerford Walter Powell and Christian Malford Schools, said: “I am delighted we are able to stage such an event and am very proud of our dedicated staff, who join forces not only to support and encourage our children but to do it seamlessly whilst organising this busy event.

“We were blessed by the weather and I am very proud that Seagry reached the finals of the netball and Christian Malford won the football.

“We look forward to another successful tournament next year.”

Money raised from the event will go towards supporting the children at Seagry Primary School, including buying new play equipment and transport.
