POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was robbed by three men in Chippenham.

The 19-year-old was walking towards the town centre through a park on Wednesday night when he was approached by the men.

They threatened him and stole his mobile phone, keys, cash and cigarettes.

It happened at about 10.50pm in the park that comes out onto Avenue La Fleche opposite Gladstone Road. The men walked off in the direction of Charter Road.

The first suspect is described as pale with dark stubble and was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a grey hoody with the hood up.

The second man is described as tanned, with short dark hair and silver stud earrings in both ears. He was wearing black trousers and a white T-shirt with a printed picture on the front.

The third was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a white T-shirt with an Adidas logo on the front and a multi-coloured splattered paint effect.

A police spokesman said: "We are carrying out a thorough investigation, including house-to-house enquiries, and are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Charter Road, Avenue La Fleche or Gladstone Road, and may have seen the three men, to contact police immediately."
