Chippenham residents with mobility difficulties have welcomed the promise of new dropped kerbs in the town.
Wiltshire Council received 18 suggested sites for kerbs from residents in a July review.
Now 10 pairs have been approved and £15,000 set aside for the job, a quarter of the funding coming from Chippenham Town Council.
Half the kerbs will be in the Broomfield and Hill Rise area of north Chippenham, and most others in the town centre, at Foghamshire, St Paul Street and Ivy Road.
There will also be a pair in Canal Road at Pewsham and in west Chippenham, on Conway Road.
Chippenham town councillor Mary Fallon, who uses a mobility scooter, has welcomed the decision but said more still needed to be done.
She said: “I’m very pleased, particularly about St Paul Street; you really do take your life in your hands trying to cross there in a wheelchair or pushchair.”
