Students at Springfields School in Calne showed off artwork inspired by their partnership with a school in China on Thursday.
Colourful textile banners were strung up along the driveway following a six-week art project with Corsham School’s outreach artist Mazy Bartlett and costume designer Emma Williams. Head of art Rachel Makepeace said: “They look really fantastic.
“It was a hard workshop for the children using all the sewing machines but they have done really well.
“The eight students involved can be really proud of their achievement.”
The art project was funded by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust, and each banner created shows a different animal significant in Chinese culture.
Mrs Makepeace, headteacher Trystan Williams and other staff will be travelling to a school in China later in the year to give a series of educational workshops.
