WALKING seven hours on a treadmill doesn’t sound like a fun task, but the support from the people of Calne made the time fly by for a woman raising money for Children With Cancer UK.

Miranda Aulman, 43, a mental health councillor, spent seven hours walking on a treadmill outside Phelps Parade last Saturday, (October 28), raising an amazing £602.75.

Mrs Aulman will be running the London Marathon next year and hopes to raise £3,000 before the big day.

“It was hard, but that said the people of Calne are just phenomenal,” she said. “The only thing that made it was all the people, they made it so much better.

“I did have a lot of ladies who looked at me as if to say, what are you doing? But most people were really gracious and kind.”

Her daughter Immy and best friend Molly also spent all day selling cakes that were kindly donated by friends, family and members of the community.

Mrs Aulman said: “They worked so hard. They were there the entire seven hours and they are only 10.”
