A COUPLE, who have renovated one of the Harris family's houses in Calne to create a luxury B&B, said they cannot wait to get started following a successful open day last week.

Owners Gillian and Ellie Farrago, 62 and 70, said they were delighted with the comments visitors gave about Heritage B&B in Kerry Crescent, which has three guest rooms starting from £115 a night, during the opening day.

"The house itself was built in 1887 by Thomas Harris of Harris Factory fame," Gillian said. "As for us, we know that he built the row for his daughters to live in and the style is very Victorian gothic. A lot of people said the rooms look better in real life than they do in the photos and the phrase of the day was 'attention to detail'.

"We really know how to look after people so we are marketing Heritage as a great place for special occasions and somewhere that does afternoon tea exclusive to groups between six and ten people."

The couple, who have been together for eight years, sold their previous B&B business in Glastonbury after discovering the house on the internet.

"We had never heard of Calne before we sat this house on the internet," Gillian admitted. "It was the house that drew us here and we knew we would have to have an income with all the renovations so it just fell into a business really."
