CHILDREN and staff are celebrating after a Calne school has gone to the top of the class for exam results.

A total of 34 pupils at St Margaret’s Preparatory School took either the 11+ or Common Entrance exam and all passed.

Among them 20 children received a total of 26 awards including Academic, Music and Sport Scholarships. Exhibitions were given for excellence in Design & Technology, Maths, English and Singing.

Headmistress Karen Cordon said: “I am extremely proud of our Year 6 children who have all worked so hard to achieve these fantastic results. Our pupils are prepared thoroughly for the 11+ examination process, and this helps to build their confidence and self-esteem.

Congratulations too to the staff, who have worked extremely hard and supported and encouraged the children throughout the process.”

The children will move to St Mary’s, Calne, Dauntsey’s, Warminster, Sherborne Girls, Stonar, Warwick School and in Bath - Prior Park College, King Edward’s, Kingswood and The Royal High.
