Girls at St Mary's Calne have a good reason to celebrate following another set of great A-level results, with over half the entries graded A*-A and fourteen girls achieving straight A's.

The school, which achieved 100 per cent A*-A grades in Further Maths for the sixth consecutive year, are also praising the efforts of their students who were able to attain their places for Oxbridge.

Head Girl, Charlotte Paterson secured her place to read Mathematics at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge with four A*s, while Eleanor Swire, Cynthia Li, Isobel Smith and Laura Steel achieved their places at Oxford and Cambridge with various straight A grades.

Headmistress, Dr Felicia Kirk, said: “I am delighted and very proud of all the girls who have worked so hard to achieve these results. So many of the girls have not only met, but by far exceeded the extremely high grades required to secure their university places, and I am sure they will flourish as they move on to the next stage of their education. "The girls at St Mary’s enjoy and achieve so much in all areas of school life – sport, art, drama and music - and participate in so many extra-curricular activities which enrich their time here, so it is especially rewarding to see them attaining these fantastic academic results.

"I would like to thank the teachers and staff who have supported and encouraged the girls exceptionally well and wish the girls the very best of luck as they leave St Mary’s."

The school are also celebrating 100 per cent A*-A grades in Music, 86 per cent A*-A grades in History, 83 per cent A*-A grades in Art, 75 per cent A*-A grades in Latin and 64 per cent A*-A grades in Chemistry.
