THE opening of Calne’s newest hair salon is the fulfilment of a lifelong dream for owner Sarah Bolt.

Salon XVIII, in High Street, opened for business last week following weeks of renovations to the site, which was formerly the King's Arms Pub.

The business is owned by 29-year-old Mrs Bolt, who has aspired to own a salon since starting her hairdressing career at school aged 13.

She built up a knowledge of the hairdressing business during her years working in salons but had, before setting up the shop, been working from home.

Mrs Bolt said: “I was doing it all from my house in Quemerford before I got started with the salon. It is amazing.

“I had been working from home for the last six years so this is just taking the next step and it is really a dream come true.

“It has always been something that I have wanted to do and I have worked in a salon since I was 13.

“It took around four and a half weeks turning the place around but my husband is an electrician which made it a little easier.”

As a promotion for her new salon, Mrs Bolt will be offering all new clients a 15% discount before Wednesday, August 31.
