A serious collision on the A3102 between Calne and Hilmarton has left a motorcyclist from Calne with serious head and spine injuries.
The 18-year-old rider of the Honda 125cc motorbike was taken to Southmead Hospital by the Great Western Air Ambulance.
Police said the motorcyclist was involved in a collision with a grey Vauxhall Astra car while overtaking a white Vauxhall van around 5.45pm yesterday evening.
The van and car drivers were both uninjured.
The road between the Beversbrook roundabout and Hilmarton was closed in both directions for several hours as police carried out a thorough investigation at the scene.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw the vehicles prior to the incident, or anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them immediately.
