Calne town centre was full to capacity this morning (Saturday) as bikers from around the country attended the Calne Bike Meet.

The annual event has seen hundreds of bikers arriving throughout the morning to take part in what has been billed as Europe's biggest free bike meet.

With the last stall being sold at 7pm on Friday night, no inch of space has gone unusued by traders and charities.

Many of the bikers will take part in the main ride out at 4pm taking in sites around Avebury, Swindon and Royal Wootton Bassett.

Town mayor Howard Marshall said: "Its brillaint, I am so proud of the committee, they have done a fantastic job.

"This probably brings more people to the town than anything and more money as well. It's a carnival atmosphere with the band playing too."

Money raised during the event, which will see live music at Beversbrook Field later tonight, will be distributed between the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Julia’s House Children’s Hospice and the Calne Youth Trust.

From 6pm to midnight this evening, visitors will be able to enjoy two live stages of music at Beversbrook field.

Mick Jogger and the Rolling Zones, Strictly Dan, The Tribe and Mind Museum are all set to perform on the main stage.
