Calne Area Board is hoping to make the town more dementia-friendly by finding 100 new supporters over the next 12 months, starting this October.

As part of the board’s health fair on Tuesday, October 7, the Alzheimer’s Society will be raising awareness and offering the chance to become a dementia friend.

This means having a better understanding of dementia and what it is like to live with, rather than directly volunteering or fundraising.

The health fair starts at 3pm in the Corn Exchange at Calne Town Hall, where there will be a range of stands, health checks and seminars aimed at raising awareness of healthy living.

The dementia awareness session begins at 4.30pm, with a film about Wiltshire’s Better Care Plan at 5.30pm.
