This picture is another sent in by Peter Preston and shows the wedding of his wife’s grandparents, Lilian Mary Russ and William Charles Patten.

The wedding took place in Marlborough on Boxing Day in 1911 and Mr Preston is appealing for information on Lilian who was born in the town in 1880. She moved away after her marriage in 1911 but by 1962 she was back, living with her sister Florence Roff at 27 Cherry Orchard.

Mr Preston has a couple of photographs taken in the 1930s that depict a woman whom he believes could be Lilian.

Two of Lilian’s children, including his mother-in-law Gladys, appear to have been fostered by a family called Bromage in Paddington.

“Maybe the photos we have of this mysterious lady is when she paid visits to the Bromage family ... we can depict so many scenarios,” he writes.

Another reader trying to contact relatives separated by fostering is Thomas Williamson.

He wants to find his brother John Williamson, born on May 1 1949 and his three sisters Mary, Alice and Sarah.

They were all fostered to different families when they were very young.

He wants to contact a John Williamson of Chippenham, who is married to Sue and has two children.

He last saw his brother in 1969 when he left Bolton on Dearne in Yorkshire to join the Grenadier Guards.

John’s foster parents were called Wilson.

The five siblings were all born in Scotland to John and Georgina Williamson.
