Stan Clist, known as Taffy, has submitted this photo to the Gazette & Herald taken in Hong Kong in the early 1950s, while he was serving in the Wiltshire Regiment.
Mr Clist served with the 1st Batt, the Wiltshire Regiment, in Hong Kong in 1951-1953 as a REME attached fitter, sailing on board the Empire Trooper.
He said: “The original destination was Malaya but we were diverted to Hong Kong due to the Korean war. I would be interested to know whether or not any of the chaps in the photo are still around.
“It was taken at a place called Lo-Wu, on the Chinese border with Kowloon, known as the New Territories. Most of the men were, I believe, in the Transport section. Our main duties were patrolling the border.”
