The wife of the late lead singer of band Dave Bishop and the Preachers is hoping to find out more information and get any recordings of the Wiltshire act from when they performed in the 1960s.
Jane Hateley, 67, knows her husband Michael, who died in July last year aged 73, was one of the original members of the band, which played together throughout the South West from 1960-1967.
The band played in Bournemouth venues, had a regular weekly gig at a club in Bath, and also played at Trowbridge Town Hall, where this picture of the five of them was taken.
Mr Hateley, pictured on the far right, was referred to by the band as Dave because of the act’s name. The band used to wear Tartan trousers for their performances, which included backing Dusty Springfield on one occasion.
Mrs Hateley said: “I can’t remember the names but I do know that the picture is the original band. Later on two members left and were replaced.
“They played a variety of music, but were mainly a rock and roll act.
They travelled to all of their gigs in that van and were one of two main bands in Trowbridge at the time along with Gog and the Reefers. I’ve also got pictures from a photo shoot they did in the town park.
“If anyone does have any recordings of them playing or any other information on them then it would be nice if they could get in touch.”
