The Friends of Bath Cats and Dogs Home are holding a Race Night on Thursday at the University of Bath.
Throughout the evening there will be eight horse races with the runners named along an animal theme. The hand-made wooden horses move on the throw of huge wooden dice which dictate colour of horse and number of paces forward.
Spectators can place bets on the outcome of the races singly or as part of a syndicate. Each race winner receives a bottle of bubbly plus winnings.
Val Pritchard, Chair of the Friends of Bath Cats and Dogs Home said, "The committee are delighted to be able to run such a fun evening with all the proceeds going to the home.
"It should be a very enjoyable evening for the whole family and everyone is welcome."
The Race Night takes place in the Staff Association Building, situated near the lake on campus. Parking is free.
Doors open at 7pm with the event running until 10.30pm.
