Builder Bob Knight has come to the aid of St Katharine’s School in Savernake Forest and provided the children with a brand new sports strip to replace one that had become worn out.
Word got around that the school was looking for a sponsor and one of the parents mentioned it to Mr Knight who has a small building company in Marlborough and he agreed to pay for the new shorts and tops.
Teacher Kevin Sandall said the school’s previous playing strip had become worn out and the children had been only too pleased to accept Mr Knight’s offer of new shorts and tops.
Mr Sandall said the St Katharine’s children played a lot of sport including soccer, hockey and tag rugby. “We are indebted to Mr Knight for kindly offering the sponsor the new strip,” the teacher said.
The school is able to encourage sports because it has spacious playing fields and takes part in cluster sports against other schools from the area.
