POLICE inquiries are taking place to establish the identity of the man who died when he was hit by a train between Swindon and Kemble on Saturday.
Passengers faced up to 30-minute delays on Saturday as services between Swindon and Gloucester were delayed and passengers were re-routed, with coaches and taxis used as alternative transport.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: “BTP officers were called to the line near to Oaksey disused station.
“Officers from BTP and Wiltshire Police attended the incident, which was reported to police at 13.39pm and the body of a man was discovered.
"Inquiries are continuing to establish the identity of the man and the circumstances leading up to his death.”
