Hardenhuish School in Chippenham has gained Unicef’s Rights Respecting School Award level one.
Last week Hardenhuish was named among the top state schools in the country by Tatler and the school followed that up with an award for putting the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child at the centre of its ethos.
The international standard was given after an inspection last month, during which Unicef representatives met students, staff, governors and parents.
As recipients of the award, the school is an ambassador for the community and will work with other schools to aid understanding of The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Headteacher Jan Hatherell said “I am very proud of the students’ achievements and we will continue to work alongside UNICEF whilst striving to do even better to aim to reach level two.”
