Hullavington Primary School has received an International School Award from the British Council.

The award recognises the school’s work to bring the world into the classroom and foster an international dimension to the curriculum.

The school ran a multi-cultural art week, with visiting artists and workshops, and participated in the Wiltshire small schools’ music festival with African group Siyaya.

The school’s international co-ordinator Mary Wingrove said: “The children and staff thoroughly enjoyed working towards the award.

“We are delighted to receive the ISA in recognition of our efforts to embed international work into our teaching and learning.”

The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations.
