Thieves broke into Royal Wootton Bassett Academy and stole two computers cotaining students' coursework.
Police are appealing for help in tracking down the two white Apple iMAC HD 2400 XT computers because the work saved on them has not been backed up by the students.
Each machine has a silver/white keyboard and Apple mouse.
The burglary is thought to have happened on Monday night and was discovered early on Tuesday when cleaners arrived at the school in Lime Kiln.
Two windows in the sixth form block were broken, causing damage estimated at between £1,000 and £1,500. The computers are each valued at £635.
The Royal Wootton Bassett Neighbourhood Policing Team is keen to hear from anyone who might have seen anything suspicious or who has information about the computers being offered for sale.
PCSO Andy Singfield said: “We have details of the serial numbers and other markings for these machines and would very much like to hear from any business or individual approached to buy them.
"If the computers are not recovered the students face losing their course work which will be a big disappointment for them.”
