Around 350 army cadets from Wiltshire tackled adventure training, military activities and manoeuvres at a 12-day camp in Cornwall.
Fifty instructors accompanied the boys and girls to RAF St Mawgan, near Newquay, where they enjoyed full use of the facilities and explored the surrounding area.
The 12 to 18-year-olds took part in rifle shooting, hiking, kayaking and sailing.
Twenty detachments, including cadets from Calne and Chippenham, travelled to Cornwall where they were split into teams depending on their age and experience.
More experienced cadets had the chance to complete expeditions as part of work towards their gold or silver Duke of Edinburgh award.
Camp leader and second lieutenant Mike Webber said it encouraged youngsters to work together as a team.
He said: “Those who want to join the Army join for the experience, and they will follow their career path.”
