Pewsey Vale sculptress Julieann Worrall Hood – known in Marlborough for her larger than life willow boxing hares shown each year at Marlborough College Summer School, has won a commission with design guru Terrence Conran’s Chelsea shop.

Ms Worrall Hood also designs sets, costumes and art education projects for The Watermill Theatre in Newbury.

Based in Bottlesford in the Pewsey Vale, she gains inspiration for her quirky sculptures by sketching the wildlife, flowers and trees around her studio.

In January she was contacted by the director of visual merchandising at The Conran Shop in Chelsea who wanted to recreate a photograph of Julieann’s hare sculptures taken against a background of the Marlbor-ough Downs as the Conran spring window for 2012.

She was also commissioned to design and create 50 new scribbly wire sculptures for the Conran window where they are on display until the end of May.
