A week of games for Chippenham children to celebrate the Olympics has been given a boost by motorway service station Leigh Delamere.

Each of the 1,200 children at the Chippenham Games will receive an engraved medal thanks to a donation of £686 raised by the Moto services.

Martin Bird, Moto area general manager, visited Ivy Lane School this week to present the cheque to children who will be competing and sports leaders coordinating the events.

“The Moto in the Comm-unity Trust sets out to make a positive difference to the communities we are a part of,” said Mr Bird.

The games are from June 25-29 at the Stanley Park Sports Ground, with 18 schools from the Chippenham area taking part. The event has been granted the Inspire Mark, which recognises innovative and exceptional projects directly inspired by the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
