JEWELLERY and personal items worth more than £3,000 were stolen from a handbag in a parked car at Milk Hill, Alton Barnes, while the owner took her dog for a walk.
Police are appealing for information following the theft, some time after 4pm on Tuesday, March 27.
The handbag contained several pieces of jewellery including a string of cultured pearls worth £1,750 and an antique Boucheron lipstick case with a gold filigree design of three parakeets, each with a sapphire stone as an eye, and worth just over £1,000.
Other items included a gold magnifying glass and a silk scarf.
Anyone who saw suspicious activity near the victim’s black VW Touareg car is asked to call PC Cheryl Weston on 101 or the confidential Crimestoppers line 0800 555 111.
