Scouts from South Wiltshire and Salisbury were presented with their well-earned Chief Scout awards by the Honourable Peter Pleydell-Bouverie, deputy lieutenant, in the recently refurbished Salisbury Guildhall.

They have all taken on exciting new challenges and learning skills in the fields of service, physical activities and expeditions.

The Scout Association Chief Scout gold, platinum and diamond awards are the equivalent of the Duke of Edinburgh’s awards. Gold awards were presented to scouts John Amore; Kye Barrett; George Hall; and Toby O’Donoghue from the Vale of Pewsey and Lewis Hartshorn of 2nd Marlborough.

Scouts aged between 10.5 and 14 years are eligible for the gold award; the platinum award is for Explorer Scouts between 14 and 18 years while the diamond award is the highest scouting award before going for the Queen’s Scout Award and is for Network Scouts aged 18 to 25.
