A POLICEMAN is being treated at hospital following a disorder on Chippenham town bridge this evening.
The officer is understood to have been dealing with a public order offence at around 7pm when the offender resisted arrest and four other people tried to intervene.
The Chippenham pc is thought to have been left with ankle injuries from the disruption and was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath for treatment.
A man involved in the disorder was arrested by officers followed by a further four people arrested in relation to the incident.
