The roadside pub The Bell at Broad Hinton has reopened with a new name, The Barbury Inn, drawn from the nearby Barbury Castle racing stables.
The new owners are Tiggi Wood and Charles Walker, who also own the Vine Tree at Norton, near Malmesbury.
The pub had what Mrs Wood called “a soft opening” three weeks ago and is having its formal opening on Saturday when customers old and new are invited to have their first drink free together with nibbles and look around the re-vamped pub.
Mrs Wood said they hoped to revitalise the pub. She said: “We intend to be first and foremost a proper village pub, somewhere where everyone feels as welcome dropping in for a quick pint on the way home as they do coming in to share a bottle of wine (or two), having a light lunch or a celebration birthday dinner.
“Four-footed friends are positively welcomed as well with a treat jar of dog biscuits on the bar.”
