Businesses are being encouraged to become friends of what is described as one of Devizes’ most friendliest clubs, Sidmouth Club in Devizes.
Mayor Pete Smith is supporting the campaign by by independent Wiltshire charity Alzheimer’s Support.
He said: “It is a brilliant place. I would urge everyone to just take 20 minutes and go and see what they do there and they will be inspired to help.
“Dementia could happen to any one of us and if it happened to me I would want to have somewhere to go like the Sidmouth Club. The atmosphere is so friendly.”
The Sidmouth Club, meets in Sidmouth Street on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The club needs to raise £25,000 each year and has launched a campaign to cut costs by enlisting the help of local businesses.
