There is still no sign of an opening date for the new household recycling centre on the Salisbury Road business park in Marlborough, town councillors were told on Monday.
Marlborough has been waiting to get its own HRC for many years and three years ago residents were thrilled when it was confirmed one would be provided on Marlborough Business Park.
The recycling centre has been complete and ready to open since before Christmas but there has been a technical problem, believed to be over the provision of utilities to the site, which has prevented it opening.
At Monday’s town council meeting former mayor Coun Graham Francis asked the town’s two Wiltshire Council representatives, Nick Fogg and Peggy Dow, if they knew what was holding up the opening.
Coun Fogg said: “I have been told there is a problem with the infrastructure and that it may take a while.”
