Cherhill Primary School celebrated National Sing Up Day with a host of events for its pupils – and got some of the parents involved too.

The school has embraced Sing Up, an initiative to get children involved in singing, and collected a silver Sing Up award last July.

The school also took members of its Sing Up club to the O2 Arena, in London, to sing as part of the Young Voices choir before Christmas.

And last week they celebrated Sing Up Day with a host of events and challenges, bringing the whole school together.

Deputy headteacher Helen Williams said: “We have really invested a lot of time and energy into singing over the last few years.

“We wanted to dedicate a whole day to Sing Up last year but we had OFSTED at the time so it was a bit difficult.

“But this year we were keen to celebrate singing and celebrate the awards we received.”
