Wiltshire Council has apologised in advance of work to install a long-awaited pedestrian crossing in Long Street, Devizes, due to start on February 28 and run for at least two weeks. The work follows a request by Devizes community area transport working group.
Gareth Rogers, senior council engineer, apologised for any inconvenience caused. “Improving facilities for pedestrians and cyclists to encourage alternative modes of transport to the car is very important to us,” he said.
