Broad New York accents have been heard at Hardenhuish School in Chippenham this week as it came alive with the sounds of 1940s Broadway in its production of Guys & Dolls.
The show, a culmination of weeks of rehearsals, finishes tomorrow.
It has been a challenge for Duncan Ellis, head of drama and the productions co-director with fellow drama teacher Holly Darling who have worked flat out since casting the show in September.
He said: “The language is so concise and colourful. To get the New York dialect is a challenge. The kids were all hyped up and were doing songs in assembly.”
