On January 1 I used the official UK Cyclists’ Touring Club website (www.fillthatwhole.ork.uk) to report two pot holes in the Woodborough area, which happen to fall on the official Wiltshire Cyclists’ Route.
They electronically and automatically immediately reported the matter to the relevant Highways Authority (Wiltshire County Council, together with map references and so on), who quite soon inspected the problem. But, believe it or not, the official report back on to the website (within minutes) gives an expected repair date of… June 30, 2011. What a state of affairs? No wonder we are known as the County of Pot Holes. Why not say “sometime in 2011” and have done with it, just to be on the safe side?
