Pupils from Redlands School are swapping shoes for studded boots for a day of football-related fun at Hardenhuish Park.
About 35 seven and eight-year-olds are visiting Chippenham Town Football Club on January 28 in a bid to increase the club’s involvement in the community.
They will train on the pitch or dome, be told about the history of the club and given a tour of the grounds.
Each child will be given a junior season ticket that will be valid until they leave Redlands and also a Sport in the Community medal.
The club’s Barry Stephens said the game does much for society. “It’s got a great role to play and it plays it very well,” he said. This is the first of several events to include other schools as well.
