JUMPING fans should be well catered for this weekend with meetings scheduled for Ascot, Haydock and Wincanton.

The feature race at Ascot is the Victor Chandler Chase where the Paul Nicholls-trained Master Minded will be a warm order to lift another big Saturday prize for the Somerset trainer.

Nicholls’ horse is in good order and the Victor Chandler has always been his target.

Looking to stretch his unbeaten record to three this season, Master Minded, in the same ownership as Kauto Star, will no doubt start a short-priced favourite.

Opposition includes the Nicky Henderson-trained Petit Robin.

Wwith the Seven Barrows yard at Lambourn flying at the moment the eight year old will sure to have plenty of followers.

At Haydock, all eyes will be on the Champion Hurdle Trial where Barbury trainer Alan King is expected to run Walkon, last seen winning a novices hurdle at Aintree in 2009.

King was successful in the race last year with Medermit.

Favourite for the race will be the Donald McCain-trained Peddlers Cross, bidding for a fourth successive victory in the hands of stable jockey Jason Maguire.

On the same card, the Grade 2 Peter Marsh Chase run over three miles could go to market leader King Fontaine, looking to make it five successive victories, despite going up 15 lbs in the weights.

Wincanton stages a competitive-looking card where it could pay to follow the fortunes of local trainer Nicholls, who enjoys plenty of success on the course.

However, if the Broad Hinton-trained Lordsbridge goes to post in the Bathwick Tyres Salisbury Novices Chase, he could chalk up a victory for trainer Andy Turnell and jockey Nick Scholfield.

All-weather flat racing followers will be catered for with a seven-race card at Lingfield, where the one mile Maiden Stakes could go to the Ralph Beckett-trained Ruby Brook, the mount of Jim Crowley.

Other likely winners on the card could be Striking Eyes, trained by Beckhampton’s Roger Charlton in the six furlong Selling Stakes and Perfect Act in the feature race of the afternoon.

In the last race on the card, leading, all-weather jockey George Baker could send backers home happy by winning on Mister Frosty.
