VIillages in the county are waiting to hear if they will be crowned the best.
The winners of the first round of the Best Kept Village competition include Rushall and Clyffe Pypard in the small village category, Chirton and Yatton Keynell in the medium village category and Rowde and Colerne in the large village category.
The competition is organised by Wiltshire Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE).
Membership secretary Margaret Armand-Smith said a total of 53 villages entered this year, which was slightly down on previous years.
Judging of the villages that won the district rounds has been on going and the overall winners of each category are due to be announced in August.
The winners will receive a plaque from Wiltshire Council.
The CPRE will present a certificate, cheque for £150 and shield to display in the villages.
