SWINDON Wildcats have re-signed netminder Chris Douglas for the 2010-11 English Premier League campaign.

The London-born backstop spent two seasons with the neighbouring Bracknell Bees organisation before taking time away from the English Premier League.

He answered the Swindon call for help in the latter part of last season, ehlping the team into the end-of-season play-offs.

Coach Ryan Aldridge said: "It is no coincidence that the Wildcats' fortunes changed when Chris - having trained with the team regularly during the season - was offered the opportunity to put the pads back on.

"Neither he nor the team looked back.''

Douglas was inspirational in his first game back - an overtime win against the Peterborough Phantoms - and was instrumental in the team's resurgence that saw them reach the season-ending Final Four event at Coventry for the first time in the competition's five-year history.

"Dougie did a great job for us last season when he came in", added Aldridge.

"He gives us a chance to win every night. Not only does he make the big save, but he makes them at crucial times in the game - something we have lacked in the 18 months before he came in.

"His work rate and desire to win is second to none.

"I can't wait to start the year with a goalie like him.''

Also coming back is Lee Richardson, who will complete the second year of a two-year contract with Swindon.

Richardson, 27, led as team captain last season and played a pivotal role on the team's top forward line.

He has Elite league experience under his belt with the Coventry Blaze and the Cardiff Devils, as well as an EPL winners medal under Aldridge from their time with Bracknell.

"Richardson's contribution to the Wildcats side over the past three seasons cannot be understated.", said Aldridge.

Wildcats expect to confirm more signings next week.
