WILTSHIRE League, division one: At the halfway stage of the season Marlborough stand a point clear at the top of the table.

Westinghouse moved into second place following their surprisingly narrow seven run win at bottom of the table Lechlade.

The visitors scored 192 and despite Roger Petifer's 58 and Kevin Sweet's 52 Lechlade were bowled out for 185.

A point back in third spot are Swindon Nalgo as they cruised to an easy nine wicket home win over struggling Minety.

They bowled their visitors out for just 96 with Darren Fisher 5-17 and Maurice Beale 3-7. Shahaz Zafar 34 and Taheer Hanif 48no then helped Nalgo to knock the runs off in 26 overs.

Box had to struggle for their three wicket win at Calne in a game where the bowlers were predominantly on top.

Calne scored 124 all out with Paul Rowson 37 and Nick Mooney 27 top scoring as Richard Foley took 5-41 in 14 overs. Thanks to Andy Crawford 49no and Neil Petit 38 Box finally achieved victory with five overs to spare. For Calne Colin Sykes bowled well to take 4-21 in ten overs.

DIVISION two: Beanacre remain undefeated as they won by seven wickets at home to second place Biddestone.

Bradford Town gained only their second success as they overcame fellow strugglers Burbage & ER by four wickets.

Burbage, thanks to Paul Balcombe's 66, reached a respectable 202-8 as Dave Edwards took 4-50 in 14 overs. Chris Watts 56 and Clive Warren 74 then steered Bradford home with three balls to spare. For Burbage, Terry Chaplin took 3-74 in his 15 overs.

DIVISION three: With four of the top five winning the only changes are due to the bonus points gained.

Swindon Civil Service emerged with a four wicket win at Dauntsey Gentlemen in a slow scoring game. Martin Hobbs 17no and Tony Fuller 19no saw Civil Service home with five overs left.

Wanborough had the biggest win of the day in the division as they beat visiting Lambourn by ten wickets.

For the visitors Paul Hawkins 40 top scored in their 122 all out as Andy Frasier took 5-23 in 13 overs. Paul Sore 54no and Dave Hayden 52no then made light work of the task as Wanborough's win came with 14 overs still remaining.

DIVISION four: Nationwide continue to dominate the division as they won at Ramsbury by five wickets. Mark Morris took 5-18 in 14 overs before Bill Sherwood scored 49no to steer Nationwide home.

Blunsdon lost for the second week, surprisingly going down by 58 runs at home to Nettleton. Despite John Hancock's 54no Blunsdon were restricted to 104-9 in reply to Nettleton's 162-9.

DIVISION five: Wroughton Wranglers slipped up at home to Swindon 3rd XI, losing by five wickets. Mark McMeekin 38no top scored in their 191-7 but it was Swindon's Mat Baker 87no which took the visitors to a well deserved victory.

Chippenham 3rd XI raced to 255-7 at home to Warminster 3rd's with Dave Richards, man of the match, top scoring with 80. He then took 6-55 in ten overs as Warminster were bowled out for 181.

Corsham 3rd XI collapsed to 37 all out at United Churches for whom James Hill took 6-2 in 3.4 overs. Churches won by eight wickets.

DIVISION six A: Cooper-Avon Tyres 2nd XI gained ground as they overcame visiting Calne 2nd XI by 63 runs.

Beanacre 2nd XI slipped up at Wootton Bassett 3rd's for whom Dave Griffin 62no and Martin Hill 42 top scored in a total of 204-4. Beanacre were then restricted to 169-9 in reply. Chris Taylor 39, Gareth Onslow taking 3-20 in 15 accurate overs.

DIVISION six B: Buscot were at Marlborough 2nd XI, who thanks to Nick Dobson 52 scored 159-9. Buscot went on to win by six wickets with 14 balls remaining, thanks to Paul Stone 43 and Ray O'Neil 38. For full league results, see the Swindon Evening Advertiser, July 5.
